Cosmopolitan distribution from 30ºS to 30ºN.
Ocean southwest of La Gomera, East of Gran Canaria.
It is an oceanic species that prefers deep waters in the high seas, but it can be seen near the coast in some areas where the deep water approaches the coast. (IUCN, 2015)
