Canary endemic

Distribution in the Canary Islands

Center, Northwest, West and East of Gran Canaria.

Origin

Habitat

This species has been found in the few remnants of monteverde that remain in Gran Canaria, in the wetter pine forests of the northern slope and the summit, and in various habitats transformed and wetter at lower altitudes (clearings, slopes with rupicolous vegetation, substitution forests (chestnut trees), codesares and summers, etc.). Several specimens have been collected in underground traps, which may indicate that this species penetrates deep underground through cracks and interstices. (Verdú et al., 2011)
