Habitat

In ponds with brackish water and pH between 8 and 10. On sandy and muddy bottoms. It is an euryhaline species that supports important variations in the degree of salinity. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)

Population data

In the work carried out in 2003, the occupied surface was estimated between 10,000 and 12,000 m2. (Espino et al., 2009)
