Coasts West of El Hierro, West of La Gomera, Southwest and Southeast of Tenerife, West of Fuerteventura, and Canary archipelago (Alegranza).
Epipelagic coastal and oceanic. Specimens have been observed resting on the bottom of caves between 15 and 30 m deep and also hunting, alone or in small groups, in coastal waters. (Brito et al., 2002)
