Ocean to the Southwest and Southeast of El Hierro, West of La Palma, South and Southwest of La Gomera, practically around the island of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, South of Fuerteventura, West, South, Southeast, East and Northeast of Lanzarote and archipelago chinch (Alegranza)
Oceanic species usually present in waters with depths greater than 1,000 m; in the Canary Islands it appears near the coast also in deep water zone. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2004)
