They can be found in all the tropical and temperate oceans of the world.
Ocean to the West, Southeast and South of La Gomera, Northwest, West, Southwest, and East of Tenerife, Southwest and Northeast of Gran Canaria and East of Lanzarote.
Present in tropical and temperate waters around the planet, generally in relatively deep waters although some individuals may occur in shallow waters and at higher latitudes. (IUCN, 2015)
