Present in temperate, subtropical and tropical waters.
Ocean to the Southwest, South and Southeast of El Hierro, South, East and North of La Palma, practically all the coast and ocean around La Gomera (except the North), Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
Although they are linked to the coast, they can also inhabit deep oceanic waters. (IUCN, 2015)
