It is found in the sub-arctic of the North Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and North-East Atlantic.
Ocean south of Fuerteventura.
It is found at great depths, generally more than 500-1500 m, towards the sea of the continental shelf and nearby submarine canyons. (IUCN, 2015)
