Canary Islands. Eastern Atlantic (southern coasts of the Iberian Peninsula) and Mediterranean.
Southeast and North coasts of Lanzarote, and chinijo archipelago (Graciosa).
It inhabits sandy bottoms (0-30 m); locally abundant in sandy-muddy and shallow coastal puddles in the port area of Arrecife. (Brito et al., 2002)
