Worldwide distribution

Canary Islands. In addition, it is distributed throughout the western Mediterranean to the Gulf of Guinea, in addition to Santa Helena and Madeira.

It has been located from shallow infralittoral bottoms up to 100 m deep, although it can also be found in intertidal pools. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
