Canary endemic
South of Fuerteventura, and Northwest of Lanzarote.
It grows mainly on wet platforms in the heart of the tabaibal-cardonal. However, at present, it has been relegated to rocky environments. (Reyes et al., 2000)
In the census conducted in 2014, there were 122 individuals (91 adults and 31 seedlings) in Fuerteventura and 2,115 individuals (1,763 adults and 352 seedlings) in Lanzarote. (Díaz-Bertrana, M., 2014)
