Canary endemic
West of Fuerteventura; Northern Lanzarote and Chinijo archipelago (Graciosa).
It grows on platforms and cliffs in high areas, and may descend to the coast, being observed in cardonal areas (Reyes et al., 2000)
The census conducted in 2009 estimates the population at 40,205 in different stages of growth. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009).
