Origin

Habitat

In La Gomera and La Palma it is represented by isolated specimens along the lower margins of the forest domain, in many cases in forest plots that have been the object of various exploitations (logging, crop installation, etc.), areas that currently they are in the process of recolonization by the fayal-heather, on quite poor soils in general. In El Hierro, the observed specimens are found within the fayal-heather. (Beltrán et al., 1999)
