Canary endemic
South of Fuerteventura, and Northwest of Lanzarote.
Participates in part in rock communities, although it seems to be more akin to cardonal, humid tabaibals and thermophilic forest (Reyes et al., 2000)
In the census conducted in 2007, the population in Lanzarote was estimated at 2,850 adults and in Fuerteventura 359 adults and juveniles. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
