Center, Northwest, North and Northeast of La Palma.
Humid and shady environments of the monteverde, occupying bottoms of ravines or more or less steep places, and fresh places of mixed pine forests with monteverde (Gómez et al., 1996)
In censuses carried out in 2005 by the Caldera de Taburiente NP, 9710 adults and 900 juveniles were counted. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
