In arid places between rocks and stony areas from the coastal strip up to 350 msm, on slopes or abandoned farm edges and in more or less altered sites, roadsides and dirt tracks. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2004)
In the census conducted in 2003, the population was estimated at 2,928,033. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2003)
