Worldwide distribution

Canary endemic

Distribution in the Canary Islands

Northwest and Northeast of Tenerife.

Origin

Habitat

It is part of the shrub vegetation of rocky environments, possibly due to the fact that it has been relegated to these environments by diverse human activities, livestock pressure, etc. (Gómez et al., 1996)

Population data

The only data available (2003) estimate the population in 5,905 copies. It is likely that the number of copies is greater, since many specimens are found in areas of difficult access. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
