Canary endemic
West, Southwest and South of Gran Canaria.
It grows on platforms and rocky colluviums of the lower distribution limit of thermophilic forests. (Gómez et al., 1996)
In the census conducted in 2008, 670 copies were counted. The populations were affected by the fire that occurred in 2007. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
