Origin

Habitat

It is installed on platforms, washouts, roadsides, barranquillos, abandoned orchards, etc., exploiting its colonizing capacity in more or less removed and altered environments. It is part of the tabaibal-cardonal and incineal-vinegar, although it has its optimum in the thermophilic forest of the highest and wettest parts of the island. (Reyes et al., 2000)

According to the available data (2000) it has a population of between 3,000 and 3,500 copies. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
