Northwest and North of Tenerife.
Live in cleared places, borders of the forest, edges of tracks, etc., of the fayal-heather, on the northern slope of the island. (Gómez et al., 1996)
In the census conducted in 2002, 2,101 copies were counted. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
