Habitat

Species that appears sporadically in areas with flooded soil in the laurel forests, near springs and / or streams, etc. so it is often accompanied by ferns (Gómez et al., 1996)

Population data

In the census conducted in 2007, 418 specimens were counted: 339 specimens in Tenerife, 27 specimens in La Palma, 39 specimens in La Gomera and 12 specimens in Fuerteventura. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2007)
