Worldwide distribution

Canary endemic

Distribution in the Canary Islands

West of La Gomera.

Origin

Habitat

Platforms and washouts of piedmont, generally with N exposure and on easily dispersed old basalts, in areas typical of the cardonal, although it can occasionally be found in thermophilic forest areas. The proximity to the sea brings a certain environmental humidity that seems to be necessary for the development of this plant. (Bañares et al., 2010)

Population data

In the census conducted in 2014, no specimens were found. It is considered extinct from its distribution area by not locating any specimen since 2006. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2014)
