North, East, Southeast and South of El Hierro, Center and East of La Palma, practically the whole island of La Gomera (except the Northwest), Northwest, West, Center and Northeast of Tenerife and practically the whole island of Gran Canarias.

Often considered a characteristic species of rocky and mountainous areas, it nevertheless occupies a greater variety of habitats, from wide valleys and without rocky to coastal or mountain cliffs, from rural areas with small inhabited nuclei and a mosaic landscape of trees, crops and pastures to parks and cities. The shelters are located in cracks of rocky cliffs, trees and buildings, rarely in underground media. It is found from sea level to 2,150 meters above sea level (Palomo et al., 2007)
