Practically all the island of La Palma, South-Central of La Gomera and North and Northeast of Tenerife. Doubt his presence in El Hierro.

Origin

Habitat

It occupies practically all types of habitats, from the coastal cliffs to the summit, avoiding only the forests of Monteverde. He is a regular visitor to the crop areas. It has a preference for steep places and ravines. The nest is voluminous, being located in cavities or crevices in cliffs, sometimes also on the edges of roads and tracks. Although they can breed isolated pairs, they are often grouped into small colonies. Congregations in large groups are frequent, even during the breeding season, which probably move several kilometers in search of food. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)

Population data

The population is estimated at 1,500 or more. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)
