Virtually the entire island of El Hierro (except South and Southwest) and coastal areas of virtually the entire island of La Gomera.

Present from the coast to the summit, above 1,450 m. It is more frequent to find it in the bottoms of ravines and in the hills exposed to the trade winds, but without ceasing to be abundant in the slopes facing south. In the monteverde and fayal-brezal it is relegated to the areas with the least arboreal coverage. (Pleguezuelos et al., 2002)
