Habitat

Abundant in the coastal strip and in the midlands. It is rare above 750 m and it is completely past 1,000 m; below this level it is also absent in dense Canarian pine forests and in some areas of the north of the island that until only a few centuries ago were covered by the monteverde. (Pleguezuelos et al., 2002)
