Cosmopolitan distribution in temperate and tropical seas.
Ocean south of La Gomera, Southwest, Southeast and East of Tenerife, Southeast, East and Northeast of Gran Canaria, South, Southeast, East and Northwest of Fuerteventura, Southeast, East, North and West of Lanzarote and archipelago chinijo (Graciosa).
It tends to live a long distance from the coast and has little visible habits, present beyond the edge of the continental shelf. (IUCN, 2015)
