South and South Coasts of El Hierro, South, Southeast, Southwest and Northwest of La Palma, East, South and West of La Gomera, South, West, Northwest and Northeast of Tenerife, North, East and Southwest of Gran Canaria, Southwest of Fuerteventura , Southeast and East of Lanzarote, and Chinijo archipelago (Graciosa).

It inhabits the illuminated rocky bottoms, between the tidal zone and about 8 m deep, although it is very rare below 2 m. (Bonnet & Rodríguez, 1992)
