North of El Hierro, Center, North and South of La Palma, and Center and Southeast of Tenerife.

Origin

Habitat

It colonizes both summit environments in terraces, fissures and shaded and humid cracks, as well as slopes in the undergrowth of fayal-heather and monteverde. High mountain populations can be integrated into the summit thickets, while those associated with the monteverde are found in both the Monteverde and the Fayal-Heath. (Bañares et al., 2004)

Population data

Three island populations with 6214 individuals have been counted. 1 locality in Tenerife with 136 individuals, 1 locality in El Hierro with 151 individuals and 2 locations in La Palma with 5,927 adult individuals. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
