Habitat

In sandy soils near the sea, growing between coastal rocks or forming dense brush in salty pits and on the shore of lagoons (Bañares et al., 2004)

Population data

The census carried out in 2002 estimates the population between 45,225 and 100,427 copies. No specimens were found in Corralejo, where the species had previously been located. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2008)
