Apparently rupicolous plant, in territories of the pine forest (Gómez et al., 1996)
In the census conducted in 2007, 54 individuals were counted, both natural and reinforcement. The subglabratus variety is considered to have disappeared from the wild when the three specimens that were left in the subpopulation of La Florida died. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2007)
