Origin

Habitat

It develops on platforms and crevices, both in shady and semi-oiled conditions, on stony soils but with accumulation of humus. It is part of the rupicolous scrub, in the transition zones of the thermophilic forest to the monteverde. It is more abundant in the stony washouts of the foot of crags. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)

Population data

In the census conducted in 2003, the population was estimated at 12,693 specimens, but not all of the localities were surveyed. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2003)
