Habitat

Own plant of fissures of rocks, characteristic of the high summits, above 1800-1900 msm (Beltrán et al., 1999)

Population data

In 2009 there were 940 natural specimens, 842 adults, 68 juveniles and 30 seedlings. There are also 12 repopulation plots in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park in which in the census conducted in 2007, 3,869 individuals were counted, of whom 2,001 are adults, 1,345 are juveniles and 523 are seedlings. (Núñez & Bello, 2009)
