It lives on platforms, taliscas or small bags, of the cliff areas, developing better towards the higher elevations and on the slopes that face the sea. Occasionally it is also found at low levels following the cliffs or lava flows, even reaching the sandy beaches, where it coexists with plants that grow in these sands. Supports well the seas. (Gómez et al., 1996)
