Origin

Habitat

It lives on rocky outcrops, on steep slopes and of low soil, of the sub-costal zone, both in E-NE and W-NW exposures, in environments typical of the tabaibal-cardonal in contact with the thermophilic forest, but always in environments with influence of the seas. (Marrero, 2008)

Population data

In the census conducted in 2014, 1,780 plants were counted, of which 1,280 were adults, 185 juveniles and 315 seedlings. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2014)
