Worldwide distribution

Macaronesian Endemism (Madeira and the Canary Islands, there have been specimens in migration in the Wild Islands). Its possible reproduction in Morocco has also been mentioned.

Distribution in the Canary Islands

Virtually the entire island of El Hierro (except the South), La Palma, La Gomera (except Northwest, North and Northeast), Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura (including Lobos), and Lanzarote.

Origin

Habitat

It is widely distributed from the coast, where it comes to nest, to areas that exceed 2000 m in altitude. It inhabits coastal cliffs, ravines, and even inside urban centers. The nests are usually built basically with feathers and place them in places of difficult access such as cracks or holes in walls of ravines, cliffs, buildings, bridges, etc. Partially migratory bird.
