Distribution in the Canary Islands

Almost the whole island of Fuerteventura. Doubtful his presence in Lanzarote.

Origin

Habitat

It is found mainly in areas of sandy jable and earthy plains, although it can also be found in more or less stony environments. The nest is a simple depression on the ground. Performs daily movements to the few sources and springs, which leads sometimes to travel distances of several kilometers. The possibility of displacement between the islands and the north of Africa is not ruled out. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)

Population data

In the census conducted in 2003, 116 copies were counted. (González & Moreno, 2003)
