Origin

Habitat

The habitat of this species has varied from the past, when it must have been especially abundant in thermophilic forests. Given the deep transformation that this vegetation strip has undergone, the species has secondarily occupied areas of crops and other areas that are somewhat more arid. It is also quite common in places such as fayal-brezal little developed, and forests of tarajales in Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. It nests in a great variety of shrubs, located between 0.2 and 3 m. The nesting population is mainly sedentary although some individuals could make altitudinal movements. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)
