Origin

Habitat

It is a bird typical of xeric environments. It is abundant in large areas of the basal floor, occupying the thicket of tabaibas. It is also common in crops, and even in gardens and peri-urban areas. Penetrates in badlands as long as there is an adequate development of the vegetation. In altitude it reaches the high mountain scrub, lacking only in the forest stands, although it can be observed in clearings and cleared areas where a tapestry of scrub develops. The nests are located at very low altitude, generally less than 1 m, and sometimes on the ground. Sometimes it comes to breed inside greenhouses. It is possible to make altitudinal movements after the breeding period reaching clearings of forests of Monteverde and pine. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)
