Origin

Habitat

It is a widely distributed species. It is linked to open environments, inhabiting coastal and interior plains, sand jables, badlands, basal floor areas, medium crops, pine forest and high mountain scrub. It can also be seen inside towns and cities, garbage dumps, golf courses, edges of forest tracks and even in the intertidal zone. The nest is built on the ground, usually under scrub, between groups of grasses, or sheltered by rocks (exceptionally under the needles or in rock cavities). It is a sedentary species, although in arid environments in unfavorable times it can make small movements. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)
