Origin

Habitat

Infralitral and circalitoral hard substrates, between 1 and 70 m. In the most shallow bottoms it is located in cracks between blocks, in cornices and in the substrate under laminar algae. At greater depth, it also lives in open funds with sedimentation. In Gran Canaria it lives in flat rocky bottoms (12 - 17 m deep), without penetrating semioscuro environments. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2004)

Population data

There are no global data. In the censuses carried out in 2002 and 2003, the density in Gran Canaria was estimated at 23.25 individuals / 30 'and in La Gomera it was slightly more than 80-112 individuals / 30'. (Vice-ministry of Madio ambiente, 2009)
