South, Central and Northwest of Lanzarote.
It grows in stony-clay soils, terraces, badlands, sands, abandoned fields, roadsides, ravines, etc., from sea level to the summit (10-600 meters above sea level). (Reyes et al., 2000)
The most recent estimate (2003) indicates a total of 64,423 copies. (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
