Distribution in the Canary Islands

Center and South of La Gomera, and almost the entire island of Tenerife (except coastal regions of the Southeast, South and Southwest).

Origin

Habitat

It is linked to forest environments (monteverde, fayal-heather and mixed pine forest with monteverde understory). The nest, usually built with lots of mosses, is usually hung on the thinnest branches of trees. The heights of its location vary between 2.5 and 14 m. Heather is the most commonly used tree for the location of the nest. After reproduction, it is usually grouped with other species, making trips inside the forest. At certain times you can travel outside your usual places. (Martín & Lorenzo, 2001)
